How do you prep your home for sale? Today I’ll share a few ways to get your property ready before listing it on the market.

The first thing you need to consider is your curb appeal. If you didn’t know, it’s called “curb appeal” because you look at it from the curb and see what it looks like. At 0:22 in the video above, you’ll see a home that has an exterior that’s ready to sell. However, the flower beds and bushes need work. I also suggest that they trim the weeds when spring hits. Aside from that, they've done a good job with their exterior paint and stucco. Additionally, when prepping your home, make sure that your lawn is mowed, watered well, and looks green.

"Stay away from colors that may not be agreeable to everybody, and stick to neutral colors."

Next, check your lighting. If you have lights that come on immediately and have a nice color, that will make a great first impression on your clients. Make sure the color of your lighting throughout the house is the same. We recommend using either a warm-white with a 2700 temperature or a bright-white. Also, try to stay away from colors that may not be agreeable to everybody and stick to neutral colors.

The third area you’ll want to improve is the flooring. If there’s anything wrong with the flooring, such as damaged or rough carpet, you may need to have it stretched or even replaced. At the very least, you should clean the carpet. Having it professionally cleaned will make a huge difference.
