Welcome to Episode 3 of Real Estate Talk! I’m here with Teresa from the Anderson Hicks Group to discuss FSBOs. I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t know what that is… Is it something I can contract?

No, Teresa says, you can’t contract it. FSBO means “for sale by owner.” Sometimes homeowners decide that they want to save money on commission fees, so they try to sell their home themselves. However, when you hire a real estate agent, often they can get you much more money for your house, enough to compensate for that commission.

Basically, when you hire an agent, you’re calling in the pros. One time I did my own electrical work, and that’s how I lost a finger! Just kidding, that’s not true, but I do all my own dental work (disclaimer: We do not recommend that).

80% of real estate lawsuits happen when an agent is not involved. So protect yourself hire an agent. You heard it here first guys, protection is key!

Remember: Keep it real… estate!
